Girl Scouts Rock!

Over Summer 2022, troops helped us care for our dogs and horses, plus doing community outreach, social media, and volunteer building.

In September, GABBY, LYLA, and RUBY introduced what we do at Graceland Meadows to more than 50 Girl Scouts and Brownies who toured and cared for the animals.  Ladies, we’re very grateful to you and congratulations on your Girl Scouts Silver Project Award - well deserved!

ALLISON, JEREMY, and their fabulous parents were the very first adopters of Graceland Meadows’ first-ever rescue pups. They will remain always in our hearts.


Here’s what SANDY says about their pups — MAMA NALA has deep eyes that let you see into her very soul. She carries a lot of pain from her past, but she does her best to not let it steal her future. She is brave, smart and extremely sweet. Mama Nala has opened her heart to our family and she trusts us to be her “people”. Her presence has brought joy to our lives. We know that she will always watch out for our family. Our favorite time is snuggling on the couch with her head on our lap. She is a good mom to her baby BABY DAISY. 

Baby Daisy is a very sweet little girl. She is friendly and playful, and she happily greets neighborhood humans and other dogs. She has a spunky personality and she provides our family with laughter and joy everyday. We enjoy watching her zoom around the yard and tease her mommy.

Danny, his dad, brother, and crew help keep the rescue in shape. Landscaping, mulching, mowing, tree trimming, filling in holes so the horses don’t trip and get injured. This Spring, they’ll help us plant produce and herbs which is an important step for Graceland Meadows to become self-sustainable. Family.

The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue

Under the leadership of Brett and Veronica, Graceland  Meadows was selected as the store’s “Team Depot” give back to the community project, and they generously gifted supplies for our gorgeous new fencing that keeps our animals safe and sound. Plus, they donated surprise gifts. And, a crew of Home Depot employees joined us for the day at the rescue and rolled up their sleeves on some much-needed projects. I can’t say enough about their hearts and their work!

Dana and the crew work tirelessly to reduce euthanasia in high-risk shelters. We’ve fostered 7 dogs so far with them, who are all now in their forever homes. If you’re ready to adopt a pet, check with them!

Generously performed A Christmas Carol at our Holiday Open House 2022. We’ll partner in Spring 2023 for Horse Tales!

Lisa kindly joined our Holiday Open House 2022 and worked her photo magic. She’s a native New Yorker and Ossining business! 

Rising Starr Horse Rescue

Kelly runs this amazing facility with all sorts of programs that give America’s horses a second chance at life. We adopted Sweet Caroline and Wendy from here. Aside from all the horses they care for day in and day out, they’re always available for us with support and advice. 

Root2Rise New York

Jyoti and crew have prepared delicious treats for our Halloween and Holiday Open Houses 2022. Everything they serve is gluten free, vegan, 100% plant based, locally sourced, and organic. I dream about the chili and chaat salad!
