Mission

Graceland Meadows Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and registered rescue and charity here to save animals from cruel lives and needless deaths. Our belief is that no animal should suffer or be euthanized for being without a home. We rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and refuge pets and farm animals.

10 Ways You Can Help

The team & how to contact us

What we do

  • We make a difference particularly for senior, injured, special needs, and working animals abandoned for “outliving their usefulness.” We‘re able to provide a peaceful home for animals not coping in larger, hectic shelter environments, and for those who need around the clock, 1:1, or special care.
  • We are purposefully interspecies to create a more natural life for our animals. They experience enrichment and social bonding, while at the same time developing confidence and communication in a wide variety of situations — which makes our adoptables prepared for a broad range of homes.
  • We are a place where diverse people, and different species, coexist and learn from each other.  Natural animal existence is in a multi-species ecosystem — there are important lessons here for human animals.
  • Our pledge is to make a difference for an animal every day, and work towards the day of legal recognition of animal sentience and delegitimization of cruelty and oppression.
  • An important part of our efforts is to become a trusted community resource: advocates for animal welfare; a center for animal activities particularly for kids, special needs, and seniors.
  • We’re a no-kill facility. Euthanization is considered only in cases of irremediable suffering, or severe aggression that poses a danger to the animal, other animals, or people — and only when, in consultation with a veterinarian and an animal behaviorist, it is determined there are no other viable options.
