Graceland Meadows Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity saving animals from cruel lives and needless deaths.
We rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and refuge farm animals & pets — particularly senior, injured, special needs, and those abandoned for “outliving their usefulness“ or not coping in hectic shelter environments.
Our purpose is to be a resource for the community for animal rescue, care, learning, experiences and volunteerism.
Our promise is to provide animals a peaceful home and tender loving care.
Our pledge is to provide a safe space where different species and diverse people can come together and learn from one another.

Sanctuaried & Adopted
Home. We permanently sanctuary animals at Graceland Meadows, and are a temporary home for others until they are adopted.
Healing. Animals we take in most often come from traumatic backgrounds. We focus on rehabilitation including decompression, tender loving care, socialization, and rebuilding trust and security. There‘s always anxiety around a new place with new people. Usually it‘s much deeper.
Nala was used for BB gun practice. Wendy was physically abused, overworked, and sent for slaughter. Sweet Caroline was abandoned and left to starve. Jimmy Jam was used in dog fights. Carmella survived a fox attack that killed all her sisters.
Happiness. No words express the joy when you connect and earn an animal’s trust. You see it in their eyes, body posture, and movements. You dream it will happen, and when the breakthrough comes, it’s indescribable.

The plan hatched in our NYC apartment is underway! We’re proud that every space at Graceland Meadows is home for rescued animals. We’re inspired by every person who gives their time and contributions to care for the animals. And every day we’re working on how to save more animals and grow our community.
